Abstract:

<p>Eight new species of Sciaridae (Diptera: Sciaroidea) are described from Northern Europe: Cratyna (s. str.) sicata spec. nov., Dolichosciara spissispina spec. nov., Lycoriella (s. str.) tenera spec. nov., Lycoriella (Hemineurina) piristylata spec. nov., Peyerimhoffia quadrifera spec. nov., Pseudolycoriella enigmatica spec. nov., Scatopsciara (Xenopygina) obliqua spec. nov. and Xylosciara (s. str.) senta spec. nov. The important morphological details of the new species are illustrated and discussed.</p>
